Heres a fairly cheap 500GB HDD that would work in the PS3

http://www.amazon.com/Travelstar-500GB-Cache-Internal-0S02858/dp/B003SX0ORA/ref=cm_syf_dtl_txt_3

And lil info how to do it:

Use the PS3 backup utility to backup everything to a FAT32-formatted external hard drive (not the replacement drive). Using the backup utility is best because it will save everything. If you don't have a large enough external HD, then you may selectively back-up your individual files. This would be a pain and some copyrighted files cannot be copied (e.g. Dragon Age savegames). For help formatting to FAT32, see:
http://www.wikihow.com/Add-an-External-Hard-Drive-to-a-PlayStation-3

Grab a philips screwdriver and remove the old PS3 hard drive as shown in the CNET guide.

Insert the new drive and power-up the PS3. Let it format the new drive.

Restore the backup from the external HD.

Awesome thank you jexy. I'll probably really look into this in the next couple days when I can use the internet on my computer. I bought a wireless receiver just haven't had anytime to hook it up yet. I hate doing online stuff on my phone
