HI Everyone! It's been great reading everyone's intros . . . you sound like a great bunch of people! I did notice that Liono did not add an intro for him, so I'll add his to mine.
Name: Cheetara Thundercat & Liono Thundercat
Race: Duskwight Elezen Female & Wildwood Elezen Male – although I think we are both looking forward to character re-creation at 2.0
Job: I'm currently a lvl 22 Lancer, Liono's lvl 50 Paladin soon to be lvl 50 Conjurer
Goals: I'd like to get all the achievements and also make some new friends, have fun and be a part of a bigger group. Liono's goals are to avoid housework as much as possible, ^^ be as helpful as possible, and eventually get all his jobs to lvl 50.
Timezone: EST
About us: Our name's are Tara and Nate, we will both be 30 this year, and live in northern Michigan. We were BFFs in high school, and have been together for 8 years, married for 4. No kids yet, but we're working on it. Nate is a CNC machinist/programmer and I sell health insurance. Nate is a lifetime videogamer, and played FFXI for several years on Caitsith as Vaufan. I used to be grumpy non-gamer wife– until finally I said, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em – and now I am hooked on XIV! Our main thing is music, but we also like to travel. I love to read and also write fiction (primarily fantasy), I also love to can (like preserving fruits/veggies). Nate is trying to learn guitar, and is an amazing cook.
I wouldn't say I'm so much as shy, just intimidated by people who know what they are doing better than me. This is my first longterm video game experience so I'm also really slow and uncoordinated, especially chatting while playing, so it usually takes me a bit to respond. I am getting better though! I am looking forward to getting to know all you better and taking part in some shenanigans!
Welcome aboard Tara. We love couples in the LS. My wife used to play FFXI with me but since she is full time school right now I dont think I can allow her to play because she gets hooked easy. :) Maybe when she graduates and has some free time. Anyway heres a tip, Try using a controller instead of the keyboard. I find it 10 times easier for me to control my guy and get to menus fast.
We exclusively use a controller on pc. I can do stuff so much faster than keyboard, and we both have Logitech gaming keyboards so when I quit being lazy and set up macros for us it will be all the better.
I ordered a not too expensive PC / PS3 bluetooth controller sold at Monoprice… haven't received it yet but I'll write a quick review here once I get it.
(RIght now I'm using a playstation 2 controller, my PC controller died)
