This seems to get discussed alot, but I wanted everyone's opinion. If you were to participate in a pre-planned LS event, what would it be?
1: Interview with Ifrit (Ifrit Bleeds, We Can Kill It)
2: Moogle Massacre (The Feast of Fools)
3: Get Garuda Good (Taming the Tempest)
4: Holding the Hamlet (Hamlet Defense)
5: Storming the Strongholds (Natalan, Zahar'ak, U'Ghamaro Mines, Castrum Novum)
6: Exploring Eorzea. (getting those hard-to-reach aethereal nodes)
7: Delving Dzemael Darkhold
8: Completing Cutters Cry
9: Venturing the Aurum Vale
10: Race of the Chocobo (Chocobo, Gobbue, foot, or anything-goes race)
11: Scavenger Hunt (find things, and collect them, based on a set of vague clues)
12: The Great XIV Challenge (accomplish certain feats in-game, such as Take an Optical Illusion screenshot (see my 'redecorating the landscape' photo in the Random Lunacy picture album))
13: Other events (if you can think of something to do, for achievement, help, or fun, post your idea)
Great. Hamlet defense has been added to the calendar for Saturday, this and next. As I figure out my schedule, I'll be able to add more things for us to do throughout the weeks.
heh Hamlets are a bit fun but in order to get max points and treasure, etc, you need to do it a specific way(yet again). Also make sure the battle portion is up(check widget on home page) or you'll be stuck just crafting for it. I work sat so have fun!
It looked like Thanalan version will be up this weekend, and maybe LL next. Hard to tell.
The biggest thing I've seen in strats for Max points is having 7 or 8 DoH/DoL characters, and no battle characters, possible exception being WHM (to heal the NPC's). However, I'm not concerned with "max points" or "special rewards" or anything like that. This is to get us in, kill some stuff, earn some Anima, and generally have a good time.
Not many of us have a DoH/DoL class to 50. For those that do, by all means use it. The battles can be won with any configuration of party
