About me: My real name is Shannon and in the “real world” I am an Assistant Professor of English Education. I taught High School English for 7 years in several suburban, rural, and alternative schools in the Michigan area. I'm interested in research that examines alternative literacies such as comics, graphic novels, young adult literature, slam poetry, and the gaming culture in the secondary classroom. I'm married and my husband and I have a 12-month old real-life Lala named Elaura (Ela or Ellie for short). I enjoy baking, I love art, classical music, marching bands, Radiohead, literature, fantasy novels, Harry Potter, LoTR, Lost, True Blood, (Glee), Star Wars, and of course, the Final Fantasy series.

Raina is by far the best girl gamer I have come across in MMOs. She wasnt really a noob when I met her. (I dont meet many girls though, they seem to stay away from Big Papi)
